The table’s legs are made of chrome-plated steel, giving it a modern, industrial touch while balancing lightness and stability. The 12 mm thick tempered glass top adds a sophisticated look while remaining durable and practical. Sigurd Resell (1920–2010) was born in Meldal, Trøndelag, and developed an early interest in construction and craftsmanship. After a brief apprenticeship with a local carpenter during his youth, he was encouraged to apply to the Norwegian National Academy of Craft and Art Industry in Oslo, where he began studying furniture design in the Wood Department in 1943.

In 1968, Vatne Lenestolfabrikk, a prominent Norwegian furniture manufacturer, lost its designer Fredrik Kayser, who passed away unexpectedly. Resell stepped into the role and began a collaboration that would result in several iconic pieces of furniture.

Resell’s ability to unite tradition and modernity is particularly evident in the design of our own Tube Chair, which balances comfort with a minimalist expression. He continued to work with Vatne throughout the 1970s and 1980s, producing a wide range of furniture that exemplifies his philosophy of timeless design.
