The value in creativity:
What is the true value of creativity in today’s design landscape?
Creativity is more than aesthetics - it’s a way of thinking, building, and connecting.
On November 20, join us at Byens Tak in Oslo for an evening of reflection and dialogue on the true value of creative work.
These are some of the questions we invite you to explore at our next Design Salon on November 20th.
Location: Byens Tak, Oslo
Duration: Lasts about one hour, and will be conducted in English.
We have gathered a panel of voices from diverse backgrounds who will shed light on the role of creativity in Norwegian design:
Agathe Berjaut is a French-born image maker and creative based in Oslo. With 20 years of international experience in fashion, including work for Norwegian designer Cathrine Hammel, she now crafts visual stories for national and international lifestyle brands. Working both creatively and commercially, she maintains a personal and tactile approach to her art. Choosing to work analog as a reaction to our digital world, she explores beauty through photography, painting, and collage, guided by intuition and a deep sense of craftsmanship.
Evan McGuinness is Creative Lead and Partner at Bielke&Yang. As a strategic designer, he translates complex insights into clear and purposeful visual systems - using craft to create solutions that connect with audiences, shape perception, and drive meaningful results. He also leads Ways Into Practice Institute, a growing initiative shaping the future of design through education, dialogue, and shared responsibility. The institute works to strengthen the field from within by expanding access to knowledge and empowering designers to lead positive, lasting change.
Jannicke Kråkvik is an interior stylist and co-founder of Kråkvik&D’Orazio, a creative studio based in Oslo known for its atmospheric and tactile approach to interiors, set design, and concept development. With a deep sensitivity to light, material, and mood, she creates spaces that feel both grounded and poetic. Through her work; ranging from editorial styling to exhibition design - she has helped shape a softer, more sensory-driven direction in Scandinavian design.
Guro Røberg will moderate the conversation, helping to weave together the different perspectives.
We look forward to an inspiring and engaging discussion that will not only explore what diversity in design means but also how it can shape the future of Norwegian design - both locally and globally.
