FEATURED

Every home tells its own story – not just through the objects we surround ourselves with, but through the atmosphere, the light, and the choices that shape everyday life.

With FEATURED, we aim to show how design truly lives – not in showrooms, but in real homes and real lives.

This time, we’re visiting Ingrid, the founder of the acclaimed Instagram profile @kunsthjem. In her functionalist-inspired house in Oslo – filled with vintage pieces, craftsmanship, and art – we encounter a home in constant creative evolution. She lives here with her husband and two children, and together they’ve created a space where the senses are free to roam.

Ingrid grew up surrounded by art – with a father who spent his student loan on paintings, and a mother with French roots and a keen eye for aesthetics. That legacy lives on in her home, where art isn’t just displayed on the walls, but woven into conversations, emotions, and the overall atmosphere. One of her most cherished pieces was created by her great-grandfather – a raw and beautiful painting that captures both the brutality and the beauty of life.

Everything in the home is chosen with care. Italian design classics, handmade ceramics, inherited crystal glasses, and stones collected by mother and daughter all contribute to the space. The carpenter who built the kitchen and staircase is also an artist – and the result is a home where function and form merge into something deeply personal and enduring.

For Ingrid, it’s not about trends – it’s about creating a space that stands the test of time. A home where every choice is made with love, and where the atmosphere is allowed to grow naturally. As she puts it: “We’re not just building a house – we’re creating a place that lives with us.”

That’s exactly what FEATURED is all about – homes that carry stories, and design that becomes part of our everyday lives.
